Getting there

Gulf Air and Emirates also provide daily flights from Chennai, Dubai and Bahrain, Etihad Airlines, the Abu Dhabi’s national carrier connects Muscat with Abu Dhabi.

Transportation

While you can travel to Muscat with your own car, there are many maxi taxis that ply the highway from Seeb to the corniche area. The orange and white taxis are a bit pricier and they hang around the hotels for travellers.

Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace, the office of Sultan Qaboos, ruler of Oman, the beautiful palace stands on the head of a natural deep water harbour and is guarded on either side by the twin forts of Mirani and Jelali. You cannot enter the palace, but can take photographs at the entrance of the palace.
